Advantages
• ELIDEL (pimecrolimus) Cream 1% is the first steroid-free prescription cream that controls the itching and redness of eczema. It is for people ages 2 and older who have mild to moderate eczema. (This accounts for most of the people with eczema.)
• Many patients suffer from eczema on sensitive skin and/or suffer from flares frequently. These patients need an alternative to topical steroids, to treat sensitive skin when steroids cannot be used or to provide a break from frequent use of steroids.
• Does not cause certain side effects, such as thinning of the skin, stretch marks, skin discoloration, or spider veins.
• ELIDEL meets the challenges of eczema management without skin atrophy, striae, telangiectasia, hypopigmentation, tachyphylaxis, rebound flares, vasoconstriction, or HPA axis suppression
• ELIDEL Cream is approved by the FDA for people ages 2 and older.
• ELIDEL is for use on the skin only, and only to treat eczema. ELIDEL can be used on any skin surface, even on the most delicate skin areas such as the face and neck and around the eyes.
• Apply a thin layer of ELIDEL twice a day to control the itching and redness of eczema.
• Unlike most ointments, not only is ELIDEL Cream non-greasy, it has no odor. Because it's non-greasy and absorbs quickly, it shouldn't stain clothes or sheets.
• ELIDEL is indicated for short-term and intermittent long-term treatment of atopic dermatitis.
